I compose narrative-based paintings that account for both historical and personal issues that I work out with color, texture and movement.   I collect discarded  books that serve as source material for my book paintings.  I reduce a  book  to interior and exterior (cover and pages) parts, that inspire my paintings. My work challenges the viewer  to rethink our relationship with books in an increasingly digitized world. In addition we look at the history of the narrative and the marks of past owners on pages along with titles and types of books such as fiction and dictionaries.
